The PGA Tour is home to the longest hitters in golf and they have only gotten better over the years. These are the 14 longest drives in PGA Tour history and the vast majority of them have come in recent years as players have gotten longer off the tee.
Some how, some way Tiger Woods doesn’t have a drive in the top 14 longest drives in PGA Tour history. That was something that surprised me the most when putting this together. But you’ll be impressed to see how far these guys have bombed the balls over the years.

The current driving distance on the PGA Tour across all players is 293.1 yards, a drive that any amateur golfer would be absolutely thrilled to hit off the tee. But there are some guys on the Tour right now that bomb the ball like South Africa’s Aldrich Potgieter who is averaging 312.0 yards off the tee.
Jake Knapp currently holds the record for the longest drive on the PGA Tour this season with a 444-yard drive at the Sentry Tournament of Champions. Rory’s longest this season is 392 yards at the U.S. Open… but then there are the all-time PGA records and that’s what we are here to see: the 14 longest drives in PGA Tour history.
14. Craig Perks: 2002

During the Buick Classic in 2002, New Zealander Craig Perks smacked a 451-yard drive off the 12th hole at Westchester CC. It is the 14th longest drive in PGA Tour history and despite making history with that drive Craig Perks didn’t even make the cut that week! Just to give you a sense of how long ago that was, Pat Perez finished in solo 2nd that week to Chris Smith.
13. Scottie Scheffler: 451 Yards

You will see the Plantation Course at Kapalua on this list a lot. In particular, the 18th hole will make an appearance multiple times.
Scottie Scheffler’s longest drive on the PGA Tour to date was on the 18th hole at the Sentry Tournament of Champions at Kapalua when he hit a 451-yard bomb in 2023. Scottie would finish t7th that week and 6 strokes behind winner Jon Rahm.
12. Collin Morikawa 451 Yards

Collin Morikawa is a player best known for his accuracy with the irons. He is often named as one of the best iron players in the world. But his driver was on fire at the 2024 Sentry when he struck a 451 yard drive.
It was the 12th longest drive in PGA Tour history and of course came on the 18th hole at the Plantation Course at Kapalua during the Tournament of Champions.
11. Retief Goosen: 452 Yards

2x U.S. Open champion and 2x runner-up at The Masters, Retief Goosen, also hit the stripes off the ball once at Kapalua back in 2003 when he bombed a drive 452-yards on the 18th hole for the 11th longest drive in PGA Tour history. Retief finished in a tie for 4th place that week with Vijay Singh while Ernie Els won it all. A leaderboard with those names on it seems like a lifetime ago.
10. David Duval: 454 Yards

Finally a break from Kapalua! In 2002 at The American Express at PGA West (Palmer), David Duval who was ranked 15th in the world back then, broke the brakes off a ball and hit a 454-yard drive on No. 13 for the 10th longest drive in PGA Tour history.
9. Ryan Brehm: 455 Yards

Back at The Sentry… In 2023, Ryan Brehm who made the Kapalua field after winning the 2022 Puerto Rico Open was able to bend the laws of physics and hit a 455-yard drive on the 18th hole, the 9th longest in PGA Tour history. Brehm finished that week in a tie for 35th at -7.
8. Justin Thomas: 457 Yards

At the 2019 WGC-Mexico Championship, Justin Thomas made history with an absolute bomb on the 10th hole at the Club de Golf Chapultepec. He hit a 457-yard drive at the course that sits at 7,870 ft above sea level and often produces monster drives with the thinner air.
7. Luke List: 459 Yards

Back again to 2023 Kapalua, Luke List made history with a 459-yard drive on the 7th hole at the Plantation Course at Kapalua for the 7th longest drive in PGA Tour history. That’s right, the 7th hole and not the 18th! Luke List was t11 that week and got into the field after winning the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open.
6. Scott Stallings: 460 Yards

At the WM Phoenix Open in 2022, Scott Stallings would finish t21 on the week but make history on the 15th hole with a 460-yard drive in Round 2. That’s a 565-yard par-5 and he had just 120 yards left into the hole but somehow managed to just birdie the hole and not eagle it.
5. Dustin Johnson: 463 Yards

Dustin Johnson let the big dog eat in 2011 on the 7th hole at TPC Boston when he crushed a 463-yard drive during the Deutsche Bank Championship. Dustin didn’t have his best stuff that week and finished t42nd but he did birdie that 7th hole in round 3 when he hit the 5th longest drive in PGA Tour history.
4. Charley Hoffman: 467 Yards

During the 2009 Valero Texas Open, Charley Hoffman swung his way into the PGA Tour record books with the 4th longest drive in Tour history. Hoffman crushed a 467-yard drive off the 1st hole at LaCantera GC. He would also finish in 2nd that week, one stroke behind Brendan Steele.
3. Jeff Sluman: 473 Yards

Mike Weir won the 2003 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic at PGA West (Palmer) but it was Jeff Sluman who made history with a 473-yard drive on the 14th hole. How is it even possible to hit a 473-yard drive at PGA West? Jeff Sluman knows. He did i.
2. Davis Love III: 476 Yards

Davis Love III holds the PGA Tour record for the longest drive on the 18h hole at the Plantation Course at Kapalua. In 2004, DL3 hit a 476-yard drive on 18. 476-yards is longer than most holes in golf. Truly. The average par-4 length on the PGA Tour is between 400 and 470 yards and Davis Love III hit it over the imaginary green on that one swing. Incredible.
1. Max Homa: 477 Yards

Max Homa captured lightning in a bottle with the longest-ever drive in PGA Tour history. It came, of course, at Kapalua. But it was on the 7th hole at the Plantation Course and not the 18th.
Homa’s drive came in the 3rd round of The Sentry last year and he had a speed tunnel on the strong downslope along with a powerful tail wind, of course. But numbers are numbers and Max Homa crushed that 477-yard drive to grab #1 on the all-time leaderboard.
