The San Francisco 49ers have remained red hot even though they’ve dealt with multiple injuries at quarterback. Brock Purdy is playing well, but the team could be better soon.

Deebo Samuel hasn’t been available for several weeks due to an ankle injury, while Elijah Mitchell has been missing most of the year. Now, we have an update for each of them.

According to USA Today, Samuel and Mitchell are returning to practice for the season finale. However, it’s not a guarantee either of them will play against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 18.

The 49ers’ head coach Kyle Shanahan provided some input for both of his players. “I’ll definitely talk to the doctors, but usually once they let them come out to practice, it’s pretty good and we just have to see how they’re moving and how they feel through it all. I know it’s supposed to rain a bunch this week, so we’ll see how much full-speed stuff we can get in, but yeah, I’d love to get those guys out there. I just want to make sure that’s going to only help us and them and not hurt us.”

San Francisco is one of the better teams coming out of the NFC right now. They have a playoff spot locked up, though, it’s not clear which seed belongs to them yet. Having Deebo Samuel and Elijah Mitchell back on the roster would be huge for this team’s Super Bowl hopes.

Look for the 49ers to keep a close eye on Deebo Samuel and Elijah Mitchell. It’ll be interesting to see how they handle their return. With the team’s recent success and the playoffs right around the corner, don’t be shocked if San Francisco opts to sit them out for one more week.
