Rumors Are Swirling That 50 Cent Might Enter The World Of MMA

In the lead up to his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. last fall, Conor McGregor decided to spark a feud with 50 Cent for reasons that I still don’t entirely understand— especially because the man also known as Curtis Jackson has a proud history of clowning on Mayweather (like when he offered to give the boxer $750,000 if he could make it through Cat in the Hat).

50— who is no stranger to beef— didn’t let McGregor’s comments slide. He publically called out the fighter on Instagram and took a great deal of pleasure in savoring the loss of the former golden boy of the UFC. He even went as far as claiming he would beat McGregor in a street fight, which would probably get more PPV buys than the bout between the two boxers did.

We might never get the chance to see McGregor and Jackson go toe-to-toe, but if the rumors that are swirling are true, 50 might be transitioning from his career as a rapper and purveyor of Vitaminwater for one in MMA. He posted a picture with Bellator president Scott Coker on Instagram last week, and based on his past ventures, it seems like it could be his newest investment.

However, some signs are pointing to 50 stepping into the ring as opposed to overseeing things out of it.

Jackson followed up that photo with a (now deleted) one teasing a fight with MMA’s most notable Jackson— the man better known as “Rampage.”. He added fuel to the flame when he attended Bellator 199 alongside Coker this weekend, but the president tried to downplay the rumors, saying:

“I don’t know where he said he was going to fight a three-fight deal—I don’t even think he said it. I think somebody else started that rumor: ‘He’s going to fight, he’s going to fight a three-fight deal, then he’s going to fight ‘Rampage.'”

As a result, it would seem 50 is more interested in the business side than the punching part, but based on his recent posts, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before he becomes involved with MMA in some capacity.

Let’s just hope his skills in the ring are a bit better than those on the baseball field
