Aaron Donald is about to be a very rich man.

As if the star defensive tackle hasn’t made enough money in his All-Pro NFL career, he’s now in line to be the highest paid non-QB in league history.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported the details of the extension on Monday afternoon.

The Rams have re-worked Donald’s deal, giving the defender a massive raise over the final three years of his contract. He will now be paid $95 million through the 2024 season, an insane $40 million improvement upon his previous agreement.

And he’s certainly worth every penny.

The lineman helped lead Los Angeles to a Super Bowl victory last season. Over his eight-year NFL career, Donald has tallied seven All-Pro campaigns. He’s been a Pro Bowler in each of his professional seasons and is widely regarded as the top defender in the league.

His past accolades back that up.

He’s been a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, as well as a Rookie of the Year. Donald led the league in sacks in 2018 and has racked up double digits in the category in all but two campaigns.

Things were looking tenuous between the two sides after Donald essentially gave the Rams an ultimatum to sign him. It didn’t take long for LA to make its move.

It’s not the first deal that Donald has signed this offseason. He also inked a marketing partnership with Kanye West’s Donda Sports earlier in the year.

The news of Donald’s new deal in Los Angeles is taking social media by storm.
