Aaron Gordon has cemented himself as a reliable contributor since the Magic selected him with the fourth overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft thanks in no small part to his ability to throw down the basketball, and now, he’s immortalized one of his most memorable dunks with an incredible new piece of jewelry.

The 6’8″ forward has participated in the NBA Dunk Contest on three separate occasions, and while he earned a perfect score of 50 on eight of his attempts, he was never able to walk away with the trophy (he respectively fell to Zach LaVine and Glenn Robinson III after punching his ticket to the final round in 2016 and 2017).

With that said, he did get a couple of pieces of hardware in 2023, the most notable of which is obviously the Larry O’Brien Trophy Gordon’s Nuggets secured with a victory over the Heat in the NBA Finals.

However, the fans who voted in a contest to determine the “Dunk of the Year” also gave the nod to his monster jam over Phoenix Suns guard Landry Shamet, who attempted to take a charge in the closing seconds of overtime on Christmas but probably should’ve opted for the business decision that would’ve spared him from being on the wrong end of a highlight reel play.

It’s safe to say Shamet was posterized on that play, a term that usually refers to similarly jaw-dropping dunks that are worthy of being immortalized on a physical poster. However, according to TMZ Sports, Gordon opted to take things one step further by linking up with Orlando’s Buckz the Jeweler for a new piece inspired by the throwdown.

The outlet reports the pendant in question is encrusted in 6.54 carats of diamonds that cover miniature versions of Gordon and Shamet and features a nod to the championship the former won last season by replacing the basketball with the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

The jeweler said the piece would normally cost around $20,000 and took more than 500 hours to complete but that he gave it to Gordon for free for supporting his business from the beginning.

Must be nice.
