The New York Yankees are currently in the heat of the playoff race in the AL East, as they’re ranked third in their division.

However, things might be a bit tricky moving forward after Aaron Judge fell to injury.

Many were hopeful he’d return relatively soon, but reports claim he tore a ligament in his toe. Now, the superstar outfielder provides an injury update that could be troublesome of the Yankees.

According to Jon Heyman, Aaron Judge fully expects to return from injury. However, there is no timetable available whatsoever. Here is what Judge had to say when asked about when he thinks he’ll return.

“I can’t make any promises. I wish I had an answer. I just feel bad. You guys are looking for answers. That’s your job. You’re reporting. I’ve got no answers. I’m trying to figure stuff out and get through this thing.”

The good news is that manager Aaron Boone and Judge believe the star outfielder will make a return at some point this season.

Heyman reports that “Boone stopped short on Saturday of “guaranteeing” Judge’s return this season.” Judge went as far as to say, “That’s obvious, I expect to be back. I’m going to do everything I can to put myself in that position.”

Before falling to injury, Aaron Judge was having another stellar season. He has a .291 batting average, 19 home runs, and 40 RBIs.

The Yankees are surely going to miss his offense while he’s gone though, which truly jeopardizes their playoff hopes.

With that said, more updates should be pouring in about Judge in the coming weeks. Hopefully, the Yankees star can make a return before the end of the season.
