Aaron Rodgers Promises Jets Fans At Least 2 More Years Of Misery

During his weekly therapy session on The Pat McAfee Show this week, Aaron Rodgers — who has yet to complete a regular season pass for the New York Jets — says he does not think next year will be his last.

According to Rodgers, he envisioned playing for the Jets for at least two seasons and does not count this year as one given his injury.

“I felt like when I came here that I got a renewed passion and love for the game, and everything has been amazing here — the people I’ve gotten to work with, the relationships I’ve gotten to form with my teammates and amazing men and women that work here at One Jets Drive has been really special,” Rodgers explained.

“I wanted at least two years, I feel like this year is kind of a lost year now that I only played a couple of snaps. I wasn’t able to go out there and prove what I’m capable of and see what we’re capable of as a team. I don’t think next year will be my last year,” he said.

“With some of the things that I’ve learned over the last year, taking care of my body and surrounding myself with some great people who have been helping me with my nutrition and my functional training at a more acute level, I feel like I can play more years, and I can be effective.”

While Rodgers’ heart seems to be in the right place, the reality of his plans is far different, as the 40-year-old has — despite all of the reports of his miraculous recovery — yet to prove that he will be able to stay healthy for Gang Green, particularly if they don’t improve their offensive line.

There’s also Rodgers’ apparently blind commitment to offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, who many Jets fans believe is largely responsible for the team’s wildly dysfunctional offense.

The fact is that the *idea* of Rodgers on the Jets will likely always be more enticing than the actuality of it, as no one would be surprised if the future Hall of Famer looks generally washed up next season and the Jets missed the playoffs for a 14th straight season with an 8-9 record, or something like that.
