For the first time since 2012, Anthony Kim is back in the top 200 of the Official World Golf Rankings after firing a final round 62 at LIV Golf Virginia to finish in a tie for sixth, and the enigmatic star had plenty to say about it.
Kim was once considered one of the top young players in the game before drug and alcohol abuse took his career off course. He made a surprising return to pro golf with LIV in 2024, and while things didn’t exactly start well, his game has steadily improved.
Now, Kim is slowly clawing his way back up the world rankings, and he has a message for all the haters out there.
Anthony Kim delivered an incredible press conference after shooting a bogey free 10 under par 62 to finish T6 at LIV Golf Virginia and climb inside the top 200 in the world for the first time since 2012.

Anthony Kim Doesn’t Care What The Haters And Doubters Think About Him
Kim addressed members of the media following his final round and was asked what it meant to him to be back playing at a high level.
According to Kim, he’s not focused on outside noise or what anyone has to say about either his golf game, her personality, or his past issues.
“I don’t give a s— what anybody thinks about me. I work hard, (and) I stay with my family. Happy Mother’s Day, Emily. To my mom, to all the moms that work hard, sacrifice for their children,” he began. “Yeah, I don’t give a s—. This is what I do. I’m going to continue to keep working hard and keep getting better and see whatever happens.”
Kim then told reporters that he thought the current version of him could beat the 2010 version.
“2010 me might not have shown up. So I like this one better,” he stated.
Slowly but surely, Kim has also regained support from crowds, something he said he’s extremely moved by.
“Man, it’s unbelievable,” he told reporters. Obviously I played some decent golf 20 years ago where a few people knew who I was. But the amount of support I’m getting from people, not only from golfers, but people outside of golf fighting their own issues, because we all have them, has been nothing short of amazing.
“I really can’t believe how many people are influenced by me just trying to play golf. I know I’m very blessed to do it. So that’s why it’s on me to keep working hard.”
Perhaps Kim never gets back to the heights of his early career. In fact, the odds are he never does. But it’s clear that he’s moving in the right direction, and that alone is impressive.
