Arizona is hosting a number of college football recruits for their official visit to Tucson this weekend. The Wildcats made an embarrassing typo on their leaflets.

How did the materials get approved for distribution??

Every college football program provides its prospective student-athletes with recruiting materials upon arrival to campus. To not make sure every word is spelled correctly is a major oversight!

Arizona is hosting 10 college football recruits for an official visit.

With the spring practice period now in the distant past, most college football programs are turning their focus toward the future. Summer workouts will get underway in the coming weeks if they aren’t already. Fall camp typically starts in early-to-mid August. This time of year provides a bit of a lull.

Although it is prime vacation season for players and coaches, recruiting never stops. Many schools hold official visits during the first few weeks of the offseason to get ahead for next year. Arizona is one.

The Wildcats, in their third season with Brent Brennan as head coach, have 10 recruits on campus this weekend. That includes three Class of 2027 players who are already committed.

All of these guys are on campus in Tucson right now. They’re all on official visits.

The Wildcats made an embarrassing typo.

In a previous era of college football, programs would go above and beyond to shower their top recruits with gifts (candy, merch, etc.) and decorations upon arrival to their official visit. That changed in 2024.

The NCAA sent out an email in February of that year saying that schools can no longer decorate a prospect’s hotel room on official visits. It freed up a lot of time for recruiting staffers. Programs would sometimes have to buy an extra night of the rooms to get all of the decorating done for big visit weekends. This simple rule change took away a lot of that pressure.

Nowadays, recruits arrive to their hotel rooms to a few flyers/leaflets and a small gift or two. Nothing crazy. No balloons. No confetti. Definitely no candy.

Unfortunately, Arizona made a glaring typo on its paper material for this weekend. I don’t know if it was distributed to all 10 recruits but Wayne Shanks Jr. posted a photo to social media that has since been deleted.

The Wildcats left two one-sheets on the bed. One sheet listed all of the most notable alumni from the football program. The other sheet listed all of the notable alumni from other sports.

On both pieces of paper, the word ‘ALUMNI’ was spelled incorrectly. Somebody accidentally flipped the N and the M. It was spelled ‘ALUNMI’ on both sheets. OOPS!
