Arkansas needs to give its marketing team a raise after this weekend’s college softball series against Mississippi State. The Razorbacks trolled the Bulldogs’ associate head coach will a brilliant in-game promotion on Friday.

It was hilarious!

Tyler Bratton was the butt of the joke and even he couldn’t help but crack a big smile.

Arkansas’ promotion stemmed from an incident last season. Bratton disagreed with a call and completely melted down. In doing so, he stormed over to first base, pulled the bag out of the ground and chucked it into the outfield.

The Razorbacks did not forget! They invited three fans onto the field in between innings for a very simple contest in homage to the angry tirade from a year ago.

Whomever could throw a base the furthest won a prize.

Bratton tipped his cap to the well-executed troll! He too thinks that the marketing folks should get a bump in pay.

Well played @ArkRazorbacks 👏🏻. Give the marketing department a raise. They got me good 😂😂

The 11th-year staffer also got the final laugh when his team won the SEC road series with a dominant 15-7 win during the rubber match on Sunday. His good attitude was rewarded in a big way!

Actual on-field result aside, Arkansas’ in-game promotion was the biggest win of the weekend. The Razorbacks held on to a very big moment in college softball from last season, kept it in their back pocket, and unleashed a well-executed troll at the perfect time.

Mississippi State entered the weekend ranked at No. 20 in the polls. Its opponent was No. 17.

Those numbers are sure to flip after this weekend. The Bulldogs made a big statement by taking two of three on the road. They made it through the weekend without another base-throwing incident.

All-in-all, it was a great success. Bratton was able to laugh at himself and came out on top!
