Actress Ashley Crow will see her on-screen role come to life this week. Crow, who starred in the 1990s movie “Little Big League,” will soon see her son in the MLB.

Pete Crow-Armstrong, a top prospect in the Cubs organization, is expected to make his big-league debut in Chicago.

Ashley Crow played Jenny Heywood in that hit movie, the mother of a 12-year-old kid, Billy, who suddenly becomes the owner and manager of the Minnesota Twins. In one scene, she famously scolded Billy for being ejected after cussing out an umpire.

Interestingly enough, Crow’s movie screen persona might’ve just prepared her for the next phase of her real life.

The actress’s actual son, Pete, was drafted by the Mets in the 2020 MLB Draft. He was born nearly a decade after the movie’s release. Now, 30 years after that starring role on the big screen, Ashley will see him suit up for the Cubs.

Crow-Armstrong is the top prospect in the Chicago farm system, and he’s expected to see his first action soon as the Cubs look to make a playoff run.

After being selected 19th overall in that ’20 draft, the outfielder moved quickly through the minor league ranks. He was dealt to the NL Central affiliate in 2021 as part of a deal that sent Javy Baez to New York.

This year in the minors, the lefty hit .289 while racking up 82 RBIs and 37 stolen bases.

He’ll soon make his debut in the Windy City.

Who would’ve thought that acting in that “Little Big League” role would’ve been a precursor to Ashley Crow’s future?

Pete Crow-Armstrong is set to be activated by the Cubs on Tuesday.
