An attorney says the reported arrest warrant for Bill Belichick’s daughter-in-law, Jennifer, in North Carolina was nothing more than a “fumble.” Jennifer is the wife of Steve Belichick, a University of North Carolina football assistant coach and Bill’s son.
According to court records, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol pulled Jennifer Belichick over for a traffic stop on May 21. On Monday, July 13, a judge issued a warrant for the arrest of Jen Belichick after she reportedly failed to appear before a Brunswick County judge on Friday.
Court documents showed that she had no attorney listed. That has now apparently changed.
On Tuesday, Jennifer Belichick shared a photo on her Instagram Stories of an iPhone displaying the New York Post’s article and wrote in the caption: “I hired an attorney!!!!!” The song “Bad Boy for Life,” was also playing in the background.
Jennifer Belichick’s new attorney responded to the arrest warrant report
On Wednesday, the Post reported that Coastal South Law’s Alex Kintner had reached out to them about Jennifer Belichick’s arrest warrant.
“I can confirm as Mrs. Belichick’s attorney in this matter that there is no order for Mrs. Belichick’s arrest, nor is there a failure to appear,” Kintner said in a text message. “Both have been struck and her traffic ticket will be resolved on the next court date by me. Somebody fumbled the ball last week, but we picked it up and ran with it. Go Heels.”
According to Brunswick County court records, Kintner filed a motion to recall Belichick’s arrest warranton Tuesday, citing his “just retained” status as the basis for her absence. The court granted Kintner’s motion on Wednesday and dismissed her failure-to-appear charge, recalled her arrest warrant, and scheduled a disposition hearing for September 25.
