With the Reese’s Senior Bowl having come and gone, it’s time for top NFL Draft prospects to turn their focus to the NFL Combine. For former Auburn cornerback Roger McCreary, it will be an opportunity to greatly improve his draft stock.

As it stands, McCreary is considered one of the top players at his position along with LSU’s Derek Stingley Jr and Cincinnati’s Ahmed ‘Sauce’ Gardner. With a strong showing in Indianapolis, he could make a case to be the first cornerback off of the board.

Either way, McCreary is likely going to hear his name called on Day 1.

The 6-foot-0, 190-pound Alabama-native had a great career with the Tigers. He played 29 games, tallied 135 total tackles (with 49 in 2021) and added 10 tackles for loss, two sacks, six picks and 30 passes defended.

Because of his great year as a senior, he was invited to the Senior Bowl.

While there, and throughout the season, his pregame meal gained a lot of attention.

It has been a topic of discussion for years, but it really made headlines this week. On the night before every game since his freshman year, McCreary eats a full can of baked beans with eight packets of sugar.

McCreary spoke about the bizarre cuisine early in the week and said that it’s just what he does. Every Friday — or on the next level, every Saturday — he eats beans with sugar.

McCreary wants to be very clear that he loves it and that he does not care what people think. He loves baked beans and is always in “the best mood ever” after eating a big plate of baked beans.

“It’ll give me some type of gas,” he joked, making sure to let everyone know that his “stomach be good.” It’s quite the choice for a pregame meal. But if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
