Former Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark is still changing the game even though her basketball season came to an end over a week ago.

Monday night, around an hour after being selected with the number one overall pick by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA draft, the team’s store reported that it was already sold out of Clark’s jersey.

No worries though, right? There are other outlets like Fanatics that surely were prepared for the onslaught of Caitlin Clark jersey orders Monday night, right?

Wrong. They too were sold out after about an hour.

Not even someone with Hall of Fame credentials could find a way to get a Caitlin Clark Indiana Fever jersey.

“Hey @WNBA – How do I get one of those?” former NFL star running back Barry Sanders, arguably the GOAT at his position in the sport, asked on X (Twitter).

Many of Sanders’ followers appreciated both his plight as well as the fact that someone as great as he was in his sport wants to be associated with the all-time scoring leader in DI college basketball.

“Detroit’s G.O.A.T has entered the chat,” one person wrote in response.

“If you find out let me know,” read another reply.

“Surely @CaitlinClark22 will hook you up Barry,” another fan commented, bringing to mind what an imaginary conversation between those two would be like.

“You should try to make a goat trade directly!!” someone else suggested.

“Greatness recognizing greatness,” read another comment.

The bigger question these days might be how does one score a ticket to a Caitlin Clark WNBA game? Because those are going to be a very hot commodity for the foreseeable future.

Teams like the Phoenix Mercury were already hyping up Clark coming to town before she was even drafted by the Fever.

Not only that, the Las Vegas Aces will be moving from the Michelob Ultra arena in suburban Las Vegas, a venue that seats 12,000, to the T-Mobile Arena downtown that can hold 20,000 fans when Caitlin Clark comes to town.

Little wonder why even people like the NBA’s Indiana Pacers’ players are excited to see Clark make the move to the WNBA. She’s changing the game like few others before her.
