In a move that solidifies their offensive core, the Chicago Bears have successfully locked down tight end Cole Kmet with a significant contract extension just ahead of the upcoming training camp practices.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the four-year deal is worth an impressive $50 million, with a whopping $32 million guaranteed.

Selected as a second-round pick out of Notre Dame in the 2020 NFL Draft, Kmet quickly established himself as a promising talent within the Bears organization. Now, at just 24 years old, Kmet is poised to become a key building block for the team’s offensive strategy.

Throughout his three seasons in the NFL, Kmet has displayed consistent growth and development. While he has yet to surpass the elusive 625-yard receiving mark in a single season, his steady improvement has been evident year after year.

In the 2022 season, he showcased his skills by amassing an impressive 544 receiving yards on 50 catches, including an exceptional career-high of seven touchdowns – an achievement that stands out, particularly when considering he had failed to score any touchdowns in the previous season.

Upon signing the deal, Cole Kmet expressed his elation and gratitude to the media. Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, he described the experience as “unbelievable” and “life-changing.”

The young tight end humbly acknowledged the honor bestowed upon him by the Bears and emphasized his determination to prove that he is indeed worthy of the team’s faith.

As the team gears up for the training camp practices, all eyes will be on the young tight end and his promising quarterback, Justin Fields.

With the two of them forming a dynamic duo on the field, the Bears’ aspirations to achieve greatness are more tangible than ever.
