College football will be here before we know it.

Most teams have started wrapping up their spring practice sessions, meaning fans just have to get through the lull of summer before the football action kicks back up.

There are few ways to pass the time until September.

Fans can tune into the newly re-booted USFL, which debuted this past weekend. If that doesn’t satisfy your football cravings, it’s never too early to start betting on the upcoming year.

That’s just what one New Jersey bettor did over the weekend, making their prediction for college football’s next national champion.

And it’s not a team that’s top of mind when talking about the CFP conversation.

This person threw a cool $1,000 wager on the Utah State Aggies to take home the 2022 national title. With longshot odds of 1000/1 or +100000, the bet would pay out an incredible $1 million if it hits.

That’s a BIG if, however.

While the Aggies are coming off of an impressive 11-3 season to land a top 25 finish, they’ll be far from championship contenders. In the two years prior, Utah State went a combined 8-11.

This bettor might’ve been better off hanging on to that money, but hey, anything is possible.

Last season, we saw the first Group of Five program reach the College Football Playoff in Cincinnati. This bettor is hoping that Utah State can best that by becoming the first Group of Five national champion in 2022.
