The New York Jets are taking on the New England Patriots this weekend, which likely has Pats head coach Bill Belichick dreaming of all the ways he’s going to make Zach Wilson’s life a living hell.

Since being drafted by the Jets in 2021, Belichick’s Patriots have absolutely owned Wilson: in four games against New England, the BYU product has a passer rating of 50.6 with 693 yards, 2 touchdowns, 7 interceptions, and zero wins.

Speaking ahead of their matchup on Sunday, the 71-year-old six-time Super Bowl winner actually found a way to pay Wilson a compliment.

“Pretty athletic quarterback. We’ve seen him before,” Belichick said.

The Jets are coming off getting steamrolled by the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 30-10. While they were able to pull out the Week 1 victory against the Buffalo Bills despite the season-ending injury to Aaron Rodgers, another poor performance from Wilson could really turn up the pressure in New York.

Another loss could also increase the calls for the organization to make a trade for a quarterback as the rest of the roster is widely considered to be championship-caliber.

Some players on the team already seem to be letting the letdown of losing Rodgers get to them, as Breece Hall vaguely threw the coaching staff under the bus for only giving him four carries against Dallas. He also tweeted four football emojis after the game only to quickly delete it.

Currently, the Patriots are favored by three points over the Jets.

The Jets could really use a win against the Pats this weekend as their new matchup will be against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. From there, they’ll be traveling to Denver to take on the Broncos before hosting the Eagles on October 15. Then, to close out October, Gang Green will be taking on their crosstown rivals, the New York Giants.
