Bill Belichick is always going to be as politically correct as humanly possible. Hey, it’s just the way the New England Patriots head coach does things, making sure he never reveals too much in order to a) avoid giving opposition any hints, b) make sure his team stays grounded, no matter how big of favorites they are, and c) so he doesn’t give an opposing team any bulletin board material. And, seeing as how Belichick has led the Pats to six Super Bowl wins since taking over the reins in 2000, it’s safe to say his method works really well.

Thing is, every once in a while, it’s hard not to roll your eyes at the head coach when he gives too much credit to an opponent. While Bill Belichick didn’t say much leading up to his team’s Week 2 opponent, the Miami Dolphins — which . ended in an absolute demolition of a blowout — he is giving a helluva lot of respect to the New York Jets, who the Pats play this upcoming weekend.

Take a look at what Belichick had to say when asked about the Jets’ offense.

He cannot be serious, can he? After all, anyone who watched last night’s Monday Night Football game saw a Jets team that lacked any offensive playmakers at all. They’re without their starting quarterback. They’re now without their backup quarterback and have to start a third-stringer who was just added to the roster yesterday morning. They’re a complete disaster and it doesn’t appear like things will get any better anytime soon.

Yet, here’s Bill Belichick, giving credit to the “problems” the Jets have on offense.

Well, that quote didn’t get lost on the social media world, with people incapable of holding back laughter at Belichick for even insisting that a team with so many problems, and who just got beat 23-3 on national TV, could possible pose a threat to the mighty Patriots. Here’s what some people were saying.

Hey, Bill Belichick isn’t one to ever overlook an opponent, so he’s just doing his usual schtick here. Then again, his Patriots are favored by over 20 in Week 3 against the Jets, so there’s a good chance he has absolutely nothing to worry about.
