Prior to this past week, not many fans had ever heard of Brock Purdy. The 22-year-old quarterback out of Iowa State was the NFL’s “Mr. Irrelevant” this year, but other than that, little was known about him.
That all changed in a big way when it was announced that he would get the starting nod this week for the San Francisco 49ers against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady (who is definitely going to be a 49er next year – book it).
Heck, even Brock Purdy’s parents only bought tickets to the game so they could watch TB12. Little did they know their son would not only play, but start, and not only start, but beat the brakes off of Brady and the Bucs.
Also joining Brock Purdy’s parents in the stands at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday was Brock’s girlfriend Jenna Brandt and his sister Whitney.
Jenna and Whitney Purdy were right there front and center alongside Brock Purdy’s family and friends to celebrate after his big win on Sunday versus the Buccaneers.
“Woke up this morning feeling like this was all a dream…words can’t even explain how happy we are for you Brock!” Whitney Purdy wrote on Instagram. “It’s been an amazing ride together as a family. Everyone’s support is through the roof!”
Brandt, who also attended Iowa State before transferring to the University of Northern Iowa, played volleyball in college at both schools.
In 2021, Jenna Brandt, who calls Sumner, Iowa her hometown, won the Missouri Valley Conference President’s Council Academic and Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Awards, and made the MVC Honor Roll.
According to the New York Post, Brock Purdy and Jenna Brandt became Instagram official in November of this year.
