The Denver Broncos are facing a rough start to their season, sitting at a 1-5 record, but they’re not hitting the panic button just yet.

According to multiple people with the team, while they’re open to listen to trade offers on “every player,” it’s important to note that they’re not having a fire sale, according the Athletic’s Dianna Russini.

Russini does add that they if they move pieces, it could be on the defensive side of the ball.

The Broncos have a number of notable names on defense that other NFL teams would look at, including cornerback Patrick Surtain and safety Justin Simmons, although no player was specifically named in the report.

One of the reasons for the potential shakeup could be the Sean Payton-Russell Wilson experiment, which hasn’t panned out as expected.

The Broncos invested heavily in this duo, splurging on high draft picks and over $300 million worth in contracts, but the team’s performance hasn’t matched the investment.

It wouldn’t be surprising if they decide to start selling off assets and start over on the roster.

Sean Payton will reportedly play a key role in these decisions, as the team continues to stand firmly behind his vision according to Broncos owner Greg Penner. Penner told Russini that he supports Payton during recent league meeting, expressing hope that Payton can lead the team to where they need to get to.
