Bryan Harsin was run out of Auburn just 21 games into his two-year tenure. A lack of production was the supposed cause as his inability to win consistently proved detrimental.
Hugh Freeze was brought in to be his replacement, a move that’s largely flopped to this point. In fact, Harsin outperformed his successor in the win-loss column.
Harsin came over to the Plains as a newcomer with no SEC experience. Previously with Boise State, not many were familiar with his track record as a coach. It quickly led to skepticism.
Could he recruit the southeast? Could he compete with the likes of Georgia and Alabama on a yearly basis?
Many said no, writing him off before giving him a fair shot.
His tenure was filled with turmoil as Auburn seemingly tried its best to cut ties. Rumors were sparked surrounding his personal life, and whispers about his job status surfaced after a 6-7 debut season.
He was later fired following a 3-5 start to his second campaign.
Since, he’s made it his job to troll the Tigers and new coach Hugh Freeze. He did so again on Monday!

Hugh Freeze has a worse record at Auburn than Bryan Harsin.
Despite the subpar results, there are no calls to remove the current Tigers coach from the sidelines. Tom Luginbill commented on the difference seen amongst the fanbase’s reaction this week.
“Right now, Hugh Freeze has a worse record than Bryan Harsin,” Luginbill said after the Tigers’ loss to Vanderbilt. “Let that sink in… It’s so odd because one coach was wildly successful but was an outsider. He comes in and is given zero grace.
“The other coach was coveted and an insider, but the results have been every bit the same. Yet, both guys are viewed entirely different.”
Harsin saw that interview and quickly reposted it on his X timeline. He called out the fans and his replacement with one click of a button!
Harsin went 9-12 across 1.5 seasons at Auburn. Fans criticized him for it.
Freeze is now 9-13 with losses to Vanderbilt, New Mexico State, Cal, and Maryland. Still, the Tigers continue to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Hugh Freeze is not currently on the hot seat. Whether he should or shouldn’t be is up for debate. Bryan Harsin wants to remind everyone of the similarities of the two tenures in the win-loss column. He wasn’t given the same grace!
