After claiming he wanted to throw the ball more, Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young got his wish in the Carolina Panthers’ third and final preseason game on Friday. And, he showed off reasons why he was the first overall pick in the draft.

He needed the extra reps. The Panthers first team offense had looked less-than-stellar in the first two preseason games. Most of the blame was on the offensive line and not Young, but I’m sure his confidence had taken a hit.

And, while it wasn’t the greatest show on turf in Friday’s 26-17 preseason loss to the Detroit Lions, the offense looked much better.

Bryce Young was 7-12 for 73 yards and a touchdown. Importantly, he was only sacked once, which has been a problem this preseason.

Here are some Bryce Young highlights.

And, here are his preseason stats heading into week 1.
