Bryson DeChambeau may only be a month removed from overpowering Winged Foot to win the U.S. Open, he may already be the longest hitter on the PGA Tour, he may have already put on 35+ pounds to gain more distance, but he isn’t finished, not even close.

DeChambeau elected to play in just one tournament, the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open where he finished T-8, between his U.S. Open win and the upcoming Masters in November. He’s taking the month-long break from competition to get back into the lab and the gym in an attempt to pick up even more distance. He’s listed at 235 pounds, but he’s explained that he’s looking to put on 10 more pounds ahead of the Masters.

Lucky for us, DeChambeau and his team put together a hype video about his journey leading up to the trip to Augusta National in which he states that ‘the journey for 215 MPH’ has begun. The video has it all, Kings of Leon, Bentleys, which is one of his sponsors, and of course, private jets.

DeChambeau isn’t just going to be lifting and eating like crazy to pick up this added distance, he’s also been messing around with a 48-inch driver that he hopes to debut at the Masters as well. In order to get the longer drive in-check, he’s said he’ll be hitting up to 2,000 drives per day leading into Augusta.

Augusta National should be trembling knowing that a stronger DeChambeau and his new extra-long toy are dropping by in three weeks. If you thought the distance issue was a major debate in the golf world now, wait until we see DeChambeau’s attempt to overpower Bobby Jones and Alister MacKenzie’s place.
