Caleb Williams is not concerned with what other people say about him, like the obnoxious Notre Dame fan who shoved a phone in his face after last weekend’s loss in South Bend. He’s a lion. They are sheep.
Caleb Williams, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, essentially took himself out of the conversation for back-to-back awards with a three-interception game against the Fighting Irish last weekend. The loss also may have put USC on the outside of the College Football Playoff looking in.
Immediately after the clock hit zero, Notre Dame fans stormed onto the field. One particular fan, who may have been a student, was particularly obnoxious and ran up to the opposing quarterback as he tried to make his way into the tunnel.
Part of Williams’ on-field persona is his nails. His mother is a nail stylist and he has partial ownership with a men’s grooming company. He often spices things up with various messages painted on his nails during games.
That includes the 2022 game against the Irish, when Williams’ nails stated ‘F— ND.’
After the loss on Saturday, he had a Notre Dame fan film a selfie video right in his face. The Notre Dame supporter, wearing a white tank top, invaded his personal bubble and said, “let me see those nails now, bro.”
Caleb Williams is moving on.
Williams was asked about the incident ahead of this weekend’s game against Utah, he made it abundantly clear that he has moved past what happened. He doesn’t have time for such antics. He holds himself to a much higher standard than those who watch him from the stands and wish that they were him.
I mean, everybody wants to be in these two [size] 12.5 shoes right here. I’m not worried about some kid running out on the field that doesn’t have anything really associated to Notre Dame other than possibly their family going there or him going there himself.
Got a lot of guys over here that I’ve got to lead, so some opinion of a sheep, lions don’t worry about that stuff. Keep moving on, keep fighting. Fight on.

Williams could not have been much more diminishing in his statement. His response to the viral fan made him look completely irrelevant, while USC’s quarterback is likely set to become the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
