Cameron Brink will not be on the floor for the Los Angeles Sparks when they begin the 2025 WNBA season. However, she is trending in the right direction.

The latest update on her recovery, while minimal, is a great sign for what is soon to come.

Brink, the second overall pick behind Caitlin Clark in the 2024 WNBA Draft, played only 15 games as a rookie. A torn ACL unfortunately ended her first season as a professional on June 18. She underwent surgery just a few days later to repair the ligament, dated back to the 24th— give or take a day or two.

The standard recovery timeline for a torn ACL typically lasts between six and nine months. Professional athletes are usually cleared for a full return to activity around the 10-12-month mark.

If we are going off of that timeframe, Brink should be good to go around the beginning of June. Holly Rowe recently reported that she is expected to return about a month into the season — prior to the All-Star break in mid-July. That could be early June, late June or early July. We’ll see.

Cameron Brink continues to rehab. She was able to transition from a full knee brace to a knee sleeve in December. She was able to remove the knee sleeve while training in March.

The 23-year-old big provided her most recent update at the end of April. Brink was able to run on a treadmill without assistance.

Los Angeles fans are very excited about the latest video. Teammate Rae Burrell posted a TikTok on Tuesday. Brink was not only without brace or sleeve, she was able to move her knees in an unconventional manner and jump without pain.

Although the video is not a real update from the team doctor, it might as well serve the same purpose. Range of motion is not an issue for Cameron Brink. She can plant and jump off of her repaired knee. Those are good signs!

The Sparks do not need to rush Brink back on the court. They might choose to be overly cautious. However, it seems like everything is trending in the right direction for a return in the next few weeks!
