ESPN has published an article regarding the dysfunction in the Cardinals organization under owner Michael Bidwill.

The Cardinals‘ workplace culture has been looked at since April when former vice president of player personnel Terry McDonough filed an arbitration complaint against the team and its owner, accusing them of various forms of misconduct and discrimination.

The Cardinals have vehemently denied McDonough’s allegations, calling them as “Outlandish.”

One particularly notable complaint involves Bidwill’s alleged berating of a Black employee in a “racially charged manner“, as reported by Tisha Thompson and Josh Weinfuss in the ESPN’s article.

According to McDonough’s complaint, “Bidwill cursed at and berated a young African American employee in a racially charged manner. Such hostile conduct on the part of Bidwill created an environment of fear for minority employees.”

The incident reportedly started over a dispute regarding a parking spot at the team’s Tempe facility.

The complaint also mentions that McDonough was “aware of two separate instances in which Bidwill reduced to tears two pregnant employees as a result of his abusive and bullying mistreatment”

Sounds like there’s a very toxic environment over there, and the team 1-7 record isn’t doing much to distract from it.
