South Carolina’s Kamila Cardoso and LSU’s Angel Reese formed one of the best frontcourt rivalries in recent memory in the last few years. The two were some of the best few players in all of college basketball with some big SEC games played between the two of them.

Both Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese elected to forgo their fifth year in college and decided to enter the WNBA Draft. The draft was on Monday night, and it was wild.

As expected, Caitlin Clark went first-overall. But, when Stanford’s Cameron Brink was drafted second-overall by by the Los Angeles Sparks it meant that the 6-foot-7 Cardoso slipped to the Chicago Sky. They were happy to take her, and now have their center of the future.

That wasn’t the only first-round pick the Chicago Sky owned in the first round. They also had the seventh overall pick. And, when Angel Reese slipped to the Sky, they had to pounce on one of the game’s most recognizable names .

The 6-foot-2 power forward led LSU to a national title in 2023, with Cardoso winning it this year with South Carolina.  Her athleticism, skill around the basket, and tenacious rebounding is going to play really well next to Kamilla Cardoso.

Just a few weeks ago, these two were battling hard in the SEC Tournament!

Those two should dominate the glass for years to come in the WNBA.  Coupled with star guards Kahleah Cooper and Marina Mabley, Chicago should be a contender once again soon.
