As soon as the James Harden for Ben Simmons trade became official, the vast majority of NBA fans and talking heads pointed to the 76ers as the winners of the deal.

Everyone simply assumed that the duo of Joel Embiid and Harden will take the league by storm pushing Philadelphia into the team to beat in the East. Only time will tell, as Harden won’t take the court until after the All-Star break, but Chris Broussard has a message for everyone already saying Philly is the perfect fit for Harden.

The FS1 host went on a passionate rant about how Harden has never really found ‘that perfect fit’ and we all need to pump the brakes on this idea that Philadelphia is going to be anything different.

“No, [Philadelphia] is not the perfect fit,” Broussard began. “Dwight Howard in his prime was not the perfect fit for James Harden. Chris Paul, who willingly got off the ball to defer to you wasn’t the perfect fit for James Harden. Russell Westbrook, who you’ve been with at 10-years-old, wasn’t the perfect fit. Should I even bring up John Wall, who was an All-Star, perennially?”

“Then, the granddaddy of them all, Kevin Durant was not a perfect fit.”

It’s safe to say that Broussard is in the camp that believes that Harden is the problem wherever he goes, not the pieces around him.

Arguing against Broussard’s logic here is tough as Harden is set to play for his third different team in four seasons. He’s been the one forcing the hand to leave these franchises, too.
