It’s hard to remember a more anticipated sports video game than the upcoming EA Sports College Football 25. After eleven years without a licensed college football game on the market, football fans everywhere are counting down the days until its release.

Brad Nessler, currently with CBS Sports, was the play-by-play man of NCAA Football 14.  There are rumors that EA Sports College Football 25 game will feature multiple broadcast booths, but one of them that we know of is ESPN’s top team of Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit.

Fowler claims to have put a ton of time in on recording soundbites for the game.

“And folks, that’s a wrap for my part of the voiceover work for the EA Sports College Football Game. I’m talking more than 115 hours over about two years. It was a wild experience. Kirk (Herbstreit) and I did some joint recordings on the final session covering some analysis in the booth. If your quarterback throws five interceptions (and) you continue to call nothing to pass plays that is analyzed. If your team goes to triple overtime or beyond, and it becomes a contest of two point conversion plays and your defense picks one off and runs it back for a pick to to win the game that’s in the game, along with a crazy reaction. I got done reading more than 700 player names in the game,” Fowler said.

This sounds awesome, as someone who is chomping at the bit to play to this game. If I had to criticize NCAA 14, which I still play to this day, it’s that the commentary gets pretty repetitive. But, that seems unlikely here.

And, 700 names is great. Hopefully, they will use these names for randomly generated recruiting classes as well, so that even those fake players have names said by the commentary. If they picked 350 first names and 350 last names,  that’s 122,500 name combinations! That’s a LOT of names and it won’t feel repetitive like randomly generated names do in other sports games.

Fowler also notes that more news, including cover athletes, will be revealed in May. EA Sports College Football 25 is expected to be released in mid-July.
