Kansas City defensive line coach Joe Cullen was furious with defensive end Chris Jones during a heated exchange on the sideline during Sunday’s game against Buffalo. The 55-year-old smashed his tablet in rage while arguing back and forth with his player.

It took place during the third quarter, shortly after the Chiefs allowed the Bills to add to their lead with a 10-play, 62-yard drive that ended with a field goal. Chris Jones was called for a Neutral Zone Infraction on 3rd-and-13 during the drive, however the fiery dispute may not have stemmed from the penalty.

Whatever it was, Cullen was mad enough to raise the tablet up over his head and smash it down on the ground below. That’s next-level anger!

Although it is easy to jump to conclusions and say that the Chiefs are crumbling from the inside. Based on George Karlaftis’ reaction (sitting to the left of Jones on the bench), it probably wasn’t that serious.

He was laughing the whole time.

Jones has been in the league since 2016. This isn’t his first rodeo.

Joe Cullen has been coaching defensive lines since 1991. He’s been doing this for more than three decades.

This wasn’t his first blowup. This won’t be his last. That’s football.

The disagreement blew up and blew over. They moved on quickly, and Jones sassily returned the oxygen mask to his mouth after Cullen’s tablet toss.

Kansas City’s defense went out on the very next drive and forced a three-and-out. Clearly, whatever boiled over on the sideline lit a fire. They played much better after the blowup!

Even if it was not that big of a deal, seeing an NFL coach smash his tablet in anger is always quite the sight. It will never not be a little bit jarring. Especially when another player is involved!
