Brock Purdy has taken the NFL by storm. Since becoming the 49ers quarterback when Jimmy Garoppolo got injured early in the week 13 game against the Miami Dolphins, the 49ers are undefeated.

Just last weekend, the rookie out of Iowa State won his first playoff game when he helped lead the 9ers to a 41-23 win over the divisional rival Seahawks.

All of a sudden, San Francisco has the third-best odds to win the Super Bowl, and the best from the NFC.

But, not everyone believes in Mr. Irrelevant, the title bestowed on the last pick in the NFL draft. Recently, the Pro Football Talk host made some not-so-nice comments about Purdy. To make matters more interesting, Simms and San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan are best buds.

Here are some more details, according to sfgate.com

“This is why I was saying draft f—king Mac Jones,” Simms exclaimed. “This is why. He’s a lesser Mac Jones,” he said, referring to Purdy. “And yes, this is sustainable because as long as you’re smart and have control of the football, Shanahan, the team they have, they don’t ever make it all about the quarterback. So he’s just going to be, ‘Hey, f—khead, listen to this, I’m telling you the keys to the play right here, watch this guy, if you could just listen to me it’ll be open.’ That’s all he needs.”

The article also said that Simms and Shanahan have their initials tattooed on each other. Pretty weird if you ask me.

The 49ers take on the Cowboys on Sunday in the Divisional Round.
