Colin Cowherd Boldly Predicts The Patriots Won’t Pursue Teddy Bridgewater A Week After The QB Signed With The Panthers

I devote a solid chunk of my working day to covering the world of athletics, and while I like to think I’d fare better answering sports-related clues on Jeopardy! compared to most of the show’s contestants, I’m well aware that I’m far from an expert in that realm.

I actually got a job offer a few years ago from a pretty big outlet where I could’ve gotten paid to talk about sports on a daily basis but I eventually decided to turn it down because I knew it’d only be a matter of time before shit I said began to be regularly tweeted out by Freezing Cold Takes.

However, I occasionally second-guess that decision thanks to the number of high-profile talking heads who get paid insane amounts of money to share their supposedly “expert” opinions despite routinely showing they have no fucking clue what they’re talking about.

Stephen A. Smith is one of the more notable habitual offenders but I’m willing to give him a pass because he’s still incredibly entertaining despite being consistently wrong.

The same cannot be said for Colin Cowherd.

Cowherd has spent the past five years working for Fox Sports after his time at ESPN was unceremoniously cut short when he issued a take hotter than the surface of the Sun by implying people from the Dominican Republic are inherently dumb, which tells you basically all you need to know about him.

When you consider he still has a show after all this time, there must be some people out there who actually enjoy listening to Cowherd, and if you happen to be a fan of smug, condescending assholes, then he’s probably right up your alley.

I might be willing to overlook his shitty personality if he actually managed to provide some meaningful insight into the world of sports but he’s shown time and time again that he has no fucking clue what he’s talking about, whether he’s wildly speculating about Tom Brady’s future or guessing the Patriots will tank to get Trevor Lawrence while also predicting a 6-10 record will somehow get them the top pick in the draft.

However, Cowherd may have officially outdone himself on Tuesday when he turned his attention to New England’s quarterback situation and seemed incredulous that the team isn’t interested in trying to tap Teddy Bridgewater to replace Tom Brady—which would be fairly difficult for them to do considering the Panthers signed the quarterback to succeed Cam Newton over a week ago.

I just made the grave mistake of looking up Cowherd’s contract details only to discover he reportedly makes at least $6 million a year. I guess you really can fake it until you make it.
