Coastal Carolina head coach Kevin Schnall was ejected from Game 2 of the College World Series finals in the bottom of the first inning. The butthurt umpire could not handle criticism from the dugout and decided to make the biggest game of the college baseball season thus far all about himself.

It was a complete and total ump show in Omaha.

Schnall, in his first year as the head college baseball coach at Coastal, did not agree with how home plate umpire Angel Campos was calling balls and strikes and yelled over from the dugout to let him know. The 48-year-old did not say anything out of the ordinary at first. He could be seen yelling, “you missed three pitches, you missed three pitches.” No big deal.

Campos gave him a warning at first but Schnall kept coming so he threw him out of the game. His decision to leave the dugout resulted in an ejection.

According to a quick Google search, Angel Campos is only 5-foot-9 so this was the ultimate case of little man syndrome. His decision to eject the head coach was pathetic and a bad situation only got worse.

As you could imagine, Kevin Schnall lost his cool over the ridiculous ejection. He stormed onto the field to give the College World Series umpiring crew a piece of his mind. It was a heated, mostly one-sided discussion. Campos couldn’t handle the heat so one of his fellow umpires tried to help him out but could not keep his feet and took a cartoon-like tumble. The backwards fall was absolutely hilarious.

Chanticleers first base coach Matt Schilling eventually ran over to the plate in support of Schnall while also trying to deescalate the argument. He, too, was tossed!

The entire sequence of events was truly baffling. There was no reason for the umpire to get so butthurt. His decision to eject Schnall and Schilling made him look even smaller than he already is.

Here is the full sequence:

Not only was Kevin Schnall not able to continue on Saturday, he is gone for the year. The prolonged argument results in a two-game suspension. There will be only one game left for Coastal Carolina, if necessary. Matt Schilling is also suspended for the Chanticleers’ next college baseball game.

This happened during the first inning of the College World Series finals. What are we doing here?!
