Brennan Marion is extremely high on the offensive line at Colorado for the 2026 college football season. He claims it is bigger and better than what he had at Texas in 2022.
We’ll see…
Last college football season was a disaster for the Buffaloes. A sizable group of transfer should change the outlook for 2026.
Brennan Marion loves the offensive line at Colorado.
Deion Sanders hired Brennan Marion as his new offensive coordinator at the beginning of December. The 38-year-old spent last season as the head coach at Sacramento State. The Hornets ranked third in the FCS with 262.6 rushing yards per game and averaged 33.8 points per game under his guidance.
Marion is known for his ‘Go-Go’ offense. It is an up-tempo scheme that combines a downhill, two-running-back power rushing attack with a deep vertical passing game. The goal is to create matchup advantages with unconventional alignments.
Prior to his time at Sacramento State, Marion spent two seasons as the offensive coordinator at UNLV. Before that, he spent the 2022 season as passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach at the University of Texas under Steve Sarkisian.
There are high expectations for the Buffaloes in 2026. They did not have a coherent game plan on offense last season.
And, to make matters worse, the offensive line was terrible. Leading rusher Micah Welch totaled 384 yards and four touchdowns. The quarterback room took 38 total sacks.
Marion says this season will be much better. He told The Athletic that his current offensive line is better than the offensive line he had at Texas in 2022— outside of one star player.
“Our O-line is better than what we had at Texas, except we don’t have (No. 9 pick in the 2025 draft) Kelvin Banks. Offensive line-wise, we’re better than we were at Texas. We’re bigger. We’re more physical. This will be the best offensive line that I’ve ever had.”
That is extremely high praise. However, Marion loves to talk so only time will tell whether or not his assessment is valid.
Is it better than Texas?
Texas went 8-5 in 2022. Kelvin Banks Jr., Hayden Conner, Jake Majors, Cole Hutson and Christian Jones paved the way for Bijan Robinson, who ran for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns that season. It was a dominant group that set the foundation for a College Football Playoff appearance the next season. The Longhorns’ Big Uglies were big and efficient.
Deion Sanders overhauled his roster through the transfer portal. It is unclear as to what Colorado’s offensive line will look like. They have competitions at every position

Brennan Marion is not wrong. All of his offensive lineman are of size. They look the part. Can they play it?
