Deion Sanders got off to a hot start at the University of Colorado, but the program dropped to 4-4 on the season after coming up short against UCLA on Saturday. However, that wasn’t the only loss the team fell victim to after some players discovered their jewelry was missing from the locker room following the contest.

It seemed like the Colorado Buffaloes were going to prove their doubters wrong after surging to a 3-0 start. Unfortunately, the team has only walked away with a single victory in its last five games and faces a bit of an uphill battle if it wants to punch its ticket to a bowl when everything is said and done.

While Deion Sanders may have initially exceeded expectations, it didn’t take long for opposing teams to figure out how to exploit some of Colorado’s most glaring weaknesses, and UCLA took advantage of the underwhelming offensive line Coach Prime wasn’t shy about calling out after the Bruins secured a  28-16 victory at the Rose Bowl.

Spirits were already low in the Colorado locker room following the showdown, but a handful of players had insult added to injury when they discovered some jewelry they’d stashed there had gone missing at some point during the game.

According to Sports Illustrated, at least five players were victimized by a heist that targeted “at least three diamond and gold chains worth thousands of dollars” (that group includes safety Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig, who expressed his frustration online).

The outlet spoke with UCLA police, who confirmed they’re investigating the matter.

In 2021, Sanders also claimed he fell victim to a similar theft after discovering some of his belongings had been stolen during his debut with Jackson State, although the items in question were quickly recovered.

Here’s to hoping law enforcement will be able to track the jewelry down as well.
