Dan Hurley and his wife have a deep-rooted dislike for fans of Providence College. The sixth-year college basketball coach at UConn is not shy about his feelings toward the Friars.

Nor is Andrea!

She went viral last spring for her scathing comments about the fanbase in the capital city of Rhode Island. Her husband offered similar sentiments after the Huskies’ 14-point win on Saturday.

Hurley is one of the most animated coaches in college basketball and never shies away from confrontation. Even before the clock hits zero.

He was barking back at disrespectful fans from the court during the second half!

UConn’s win essentially ended Providence’s NCAA Tournament hopes on their home floor. Even though they lost, the fans continued to yell at Dan Hurley long after handshake lines. That did not go over well.

The 51-year-old head coach called out one unruly heckler as he made his way off of the court and offered him the opportunity to come down and fight. He implied that it would get ugly.

Security had to step in and ask him to stop escalating the situation.

Hurley’s antics drew some criticism because it might not be the best look for a head coach to try and fight a fan. The optics are not a concern to the reigning national champion!

He spoke about vocal Friars fans during his postgame press conference and made it very clear that he thinks that the should just “shut up” and go home.

Hurley’s candid comments are entirely valid. To chirp him for not winning anything after the Huskies won the national championship less than 365 days ago, on the heels of a Big East regular season title as the No. 2-ranked team in the country is embarrassing.

Providence fans should be ashamed of such terrible self-awareness…

Saturday’s shenanigans marks another episode between Hurley and Friars fans. The rivalry continues!
