According to a new report from ESPN, embattled Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder — whose franchise has also been the subject of a congressional investigation this year — “instructed his law firms to look into owners and league executives.” When reached out to ESPN for comment on the story, Snyder’s attorneys denied the allegations as “categorically false.”

For their investigative report, ESPN spoke to more than 30 owners, league and team executives, lawyers, and current and former Commanders employees.
“The fear of reprisal that Snyder has instilled in his franchise, poisoning it on the field and off, has expanded to some of his fellow owners. Multiple owners and league and team sources say they’ve been told that Snyder instructed his law firms to hire private investigators to look into other owners — and Goodell.” [via ESPN]
In the report, one source said that Snyder apparently views the NFL as a “mafia” because “all owners hate each other.” Another unnamed “veteran” NFL owner, however, disputed Snyder’s assertion: “That’s not true. All the owners hate Dan,” he said.
