Deion Sanders has responded to Stephen A. Smith after the First Take host called his most recent loss “a disgrace.” The head coach actually agreed with the criticism, posting a reply on social media.

On Monday’s edition of the show, Smith called out a number of Colorado players, including Coach Prime’s son, Shedeur.

“It’s an absolute disgrace. Unacceptable,” Smith said. “The fact of the matter is Colorado came into this game 13-point favorites and got outscored by a 13-point underdog 46-14 in the second half after being up 29-0… I believe that Deion Sanders is a coach… but here’s the problem, the players got caught up in the shine their coach generated.”

The Buffs collapsed in the second half of that PAC 12 matchup, blowing a four score lead to the conference’s worst team. Stanford picked apart the Colorado secondary in that comeback, scoring on plays of 97 and 60 yards through the air. Those were just two of the Cardinal’s six second half touchdowns.

Smith took his criticisms even further by singling out quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who posted a merchandise promotion to his social media feed at the halftime break.

“I’m calling out his son Shedeur Sanders… Whether it was you, or by accident – it was somebody on your social media team, you cannot have something being posted at halftime of a damn game. Tom Brady and your dad already joked with you about what you were driving around with and how you needed to be in the film room.

“Guess what. It is no longer a laughing matter. Y’all are getting your a– kicked… To the players on that squad, your coach, as much bravado as he had, he was the best on the planet… Y’all ain’t on that level. Stop acting like it!”

Harsh words of the reality in Boulder.

Players have been called out all year for some of the showboating flashed in past games. That includes their quarterback’s “The Shedeur” celebration gesture, trash talking Oregon players before a blowout loss, and taunting opposing student sections after wins.

Smith says they started believing the hype, and it ultimately proved costly.

Coach Prime replied on First Take’s Instagram post by saying, “He’s right, now let’s move on.”

Having lost three of their last four games, many around the country are enjoying the recent Colorado struggles.

Deion Sanders said as much following the Stanford loss.

“What we just did today was pathetic, all the love that you received, all the love that we received, oh you ready to see that flip,” Coach Prime said in his postgame speech.

Colorado will have two weeks to think about the loss as they have a bye this coming Saturday. We’ll see if they can right the ship when they return to play UCLA.
