The University of Colorado is currently on Spring Break, allowing students and employees the opportunity to reset and relax before the final semester push. That includes the football team, and its head coach Deion Sanders.

But while Coach Prime wants his players to enjoy the time off, he also demands they be ready to get back to work once vacation is through.

He sent an ominous warning to the Buffs while enjoying his break from the Dominican Republic. Don’t be late getting back to campus!

“Right now, I’m thinking about when we get back [to Boulder] and check in on Sunday. I pray that everyone checks back in, and no one is screaming they missed a flight.

“That’s why we tell ’em to be back on Saturday, so you’re already there for Sunday. But guess what – there’s always somebody. And they’re locker’s going to be naked.

“If you can’t do the little things in the offseason, how are you going to do the big things in the season?”

Even on vacation, he can’t keep his mind off his team!

His warning was a simple one. Show up late and you can kiss the upcoming season goodbye.

Deion Sanders sent a similar message last offseason.

Around the same time last year, he addressed his players before their spring break departures.

“You have a meeting [Monday morning]. If you’re late to that meeting, there’s going to be consequences. Your locker will be cleaned… I’m not threatening you, it’s just reality.”

He also emphasized to his kids the importance of making smart decisions while traveling to vacation destinations.

Prime didn’t seem to have any issues in that instance, and the team got right back to work upon the spring break conclusion. He hopes that will again be the case this offseason.

The Buffs are in the midst of spring practice, which started on March 18th, as they gear up for the 2024 campaign. In Year 2 with the program, Deion Sanders is hoping to build on a 4-8 output in ’23.

Fans will get the first look at the team’s progress next month when the squad suits up for the annual Black & Gold Game on April 27th. Hopefully, everyone is in attendance!
