EXCLUSIVE: FSU’s Star Safety Derwin James Receives MRI And Injury Prognosis On Showtime’s ‘A Season With’

On last week’s season premiere of Showtime’s A Season With we saw the Seminoles overcome a 22-point deficit against Ole Miss in what became Florida State’s largest come-from-behind victory in program history. That huge Week 1 win by the ‘Noles was fueled in part by Jameis Winston’s rousing halftime speech. Above is the exclusive clip of FSU‘s Derwin James undergoing his MRI and receiving the prognosis of a torn meniscus, footage that will be seen tonight at 10pm on Showtime for the 2nd episode of A Season With.

In week 2 of the 2016 College Football season the Florida State Seminoles took on a beleaguered Charleston Southern and blew them out with a score of 8-to-52, but the biggest news of week 2 was star defenseman Derwin James leaving the game due to injury. At first the severity of the injury was unclear, then yesterday it was announced Derwin James had undergone an MRI and he was found to have torn his meniscus, surgery immediately followed.

This injury coincided with Sunday’s release of the new Coaches Poll and AP Poll, both of which have the Florida State Seminoles now firmly in the #2 ranked spot, bumping the Clemson Tigers way down. The ‘Noles face #10 ranked Louisville this Saturday, a team with arguably the HOTTEST quarterback in the nation right now, and they’ll do so without their #1 defensive player. It’s quite possibly going to be the toughest test of the season so far for both the ‘Noles and Louisville, but before we get to that I cannot wait for the second episode of SHO’s A Season With at 10pm tonight. If you haven’t set your DVR/can’t tune in this evening you can always watch it on SHO.com!
