Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is out for the season after suffering a shoulder injury Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

Following the game, Deshaun Watson was seen in a walking boot after rolling his ankle but told reporters “I’ll be fine, right now I’m not feeling well, but I’ll be fine, I’ll be ready to go.” As it turns out, the real injury was not ankle-related.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport repoted on Wednesday morning that Watson was headed for the IR after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury. Rapoport wrote “#Browns QB Deshaun Watson suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in the first quarter against the #Ravens and is heading to Injured Reserve. It’s a displaced fracture in his right glenoid in his shoulder, and he’ll have surgery to repair it. Full recovery is expected.”

Deshaun Watson and the Cleveland Browns pulled off their biggest win of the season on Sunday. They beat the Baltimore Ravens 33-31 on the road and Watson threw for 213 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT.

Watson only missed the last play of the first half when backup QB P.J. Walker came in for him as Deshaun headed to the locker room early for halftime. But he came out in the second half and led the Browns to a win. It’s arguably his biggest ‘signature win’ in his short time with the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns are 6-3 this season, one of the franchise’s best starts in years. But this certainly throws a wrench in the team’s momentum as their $230,000,000 quarterback get shut down for the year.

The reaction to Deshaun Watson being shut down for the season was immediate. Fans responded to Rapoport’s news with messages of “The Josh Dobbs trade is aging like milk” and “Two Hundred and Thirty Million Guaranteed.”

Backup QB PJ Walker now his his work cut out for him with the Steelers this weekend.
