The Jacksonville Jaguars entered the 2023 NFL season with sky high expectations.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence was supposed to establish himself as a star. The Jags’ defense was supposed to be one of the best in the league, and head coach Doug Pederson was set to orchestrate and exciting, revamped offense.

Instead, the Jaguars went 9-8 and missed the playoffs altogether. Which was apparently too much to bear for one woman who opted to drive her car into the team’s practice facility on Monday night.

Jamal St. Cyr of local television station WJXT4 reports the woman was arrested after police deemed she intentionally crashed into the team facility.

After crashing through the gate, the 32-year-old woman reportedly crashed into glass doors at the Miller Electric Center.

The woman was accused of driving under the influence (DUI), five counts of DUI property damage, aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

The Jaguars issued a statement to News4JAX following the incident.

“The Miller Electric Center was damaged last night in what we understand to be an isolated incident and, thankfully, none of our staff or security were in that portion of the building,” the team said. “We are currently gathering information. We are mindful that there is an ongoing investigation and will have no further comment.”

Somehow, it’s only the second strangest incident involving the Jags this season.

Amit Patel, a former team employee, stands accused of stealing more than $22 million from the franchise from 2019 to 2023.  Patel allegedly exploited the organization’s virtual credit card program. He used the money to buy, among other items, two vehicles, a condominium and a designer watch worth over $95,000. Some of that money was also allegedly used to purchase cryptocurrency and place bets with online gambling sites.

Never a dull moment in Duval.
