The Drake Curse is alive and well, and it may very well have its next victim. The rapper was spotted at a Selection Sunday watch party for one of the NCAA Tournament’s No. 1 seeds.

Conveniently, it involved the region in which his beloved Kentucky Wildcats will soon compete.

Drake’s history of cursing national championship contenders dates back some time as he hops from bandwagon to bandwagon. Simply put, if he’s repping your favorite team’s gear, go ahead and put those title talks to rest.

Some of those recent unlucky losers include Kentucky basketball, Alabama football, and Georgia football.

Now, he’s on to his first target of 2024 – and this time, he might have motive!

Drake was spotted in Houston over the weekend where he attended the Cougars’ Selection Sunday watch party. UH is widely considered one of the favorites to cut down the nets come tournament’s end.

Well, maybe they were!

While they boast the second-shortest odds of any team in the field, the performer’s presence has college hoops fans weary. Many fear that the Cougars will fall victim to the Drake Curse in the coming weeks.

“Drake Curse Strikes Again.”

“Welp….”

“Never had my bracket busted on Selection Sunday before.”

“Welp it was a good run, Houston.”

Is Drake trying to curse a future Kentucky foe?

While Houston fans are dreading the fact that Drake is sporting Cougars gear ahead of their opening round matchup with Longwood, others are glad that he’s moved on from supporting their schools.

Kentucky fans, in particular.

“Every UK fan right now is celebrating.”

The singer is an avid Wildcat fan, having a strong bond with head coach John Calipari. In fact, he was just on campus a few short weeks ago where he recreated a viral photo in the team facility.

And wouldn’t you know, these two teams could square off in a potential Elite Eight matchup with region bragging rights on the line!

The Cougars will now not only have to take down a competitive South bracket that also includes Duke and Marquette, but they’ll have to overcome the Drake Curse, too!

Can Houston pull off the unthinkable?! Time will tell if the dreaded curse holds them back.
