Strongman Eddie ‘The Beast’ Hall Suffers Brutal Injury That Will Stop Him Fighting Hafthor Bjornsson

The highly anticipated boxing match between strongman legend Eddie Hall and Hafthor Bjornsson has been called off after The Beast suffered a gruesome injury this week. Hall suffered a detached bicep while he was preparing for the fight between the two behemoths that have been previously named as the strongest men in the world.

The boxing match between Hafthor Bjornsson and Eddie Hall that was first proposed in 2019 has been postponed after The Beast suffered a detached bicep injury.

Hall and Thor have shared a rivalry for years and were scheduled to fight on Sept. 18, 2021, in Jacksonville, Florida. That bout, which was promoted as “The Heaviest Boxing Match in History,” has been postponed. To prepare for the boxing match, Hall lost 80 pounds and Thor lost 100 pounds in antiptation of the exhibition fight.

Hall posted a video of his devastating injury on Instagram with the caption: “I’m so devastated to say I detached my bicep on Monday but Iv already got it reattached on Thursday AWAKE and recovery is going well. Unfortunately this means the fight between me and Thor will be rescheduled.”

Hall explained how he detached his bicep, “I threw a lazy hook and detached my left bicep. I had the surgery on Thursday and was awake for it all, and it was a complete success.”

“The bicep has been reattached and I can move it already,” Hall continued. “I had the best surgeon in the world fly in from Germany to do the reattachment.”

The Beast still was ready to thrash Thor.

“I’m in good spirits and I’m doing everything I can to recover as quickly as possible,” the strongman said of the delayed fight. “I’m looking forward to getting back to training and ripping Thor’s face off.”

Hall said the boxing match against Bjornsson could happen in March.

MTK Global, who are promoting the event, released a statement: “Eddie Hall has suffered a serious injury during training, meaning his planned September showdown against strongman rival Thor Bjornsson has been put on temporary hold.”

Upon hearing about Hall’s terrible injury that will force him out of the fight, Thor said he will look for a new opponent, “Super disappointed but this is not in my hands. Next up is finding a new opponent so I can fight in September. I’m taking this extremely serious and I’ll be even more prepared. When Eddie is ready, I’ll be waiting.”
