They might continue to rake in billions of dollars from people who could not give less of a shit about their channel, but it’s safe to say 2017 hasn’t exactly been the best year for ESPN. The Worldwide Leader lost millions of social media followers following a massive round of layoffs earlier this year, faced a storm of criticism based on how they reacted to the fallout of Jemele Hill’s anti-Trump tweets, and inadvertently posted a photo of a Notre Dame player hanging dong during a live broadcast.
There might only be a few weeks left until 2018 rolls around, but it appears the network isn’t going to let this year end with committing at least a few more embarrassing gaffes.
Over the weekend, ESPN told us how they expected Michigan to fare when they face off against Mississipi State in the Outback Bowl on January 1st. The analyst tasked with dissecting the matchup said that the Wolverines will have to pay special attention to running back Aeris Williams, as he would pose a serious threat to Michigan’s relatively weak rushing defense.

The only problem? Mississippi State is set to face off against Louisville in the Taxslayer Bowl (the only competitive event in the world capable of making accounting seem remotely exciting) on December 30th, while Michigan will actually be taking on South Carolina (as careful viewers may have already realized based on the graphic at the bottom of the screen).
I’d much as I’d love to add another steaming load onto the staggeringly large pile of feces that’s accumulated due to the number of people who have given ESPN shit in recent years, I do have to say I can’t exactly fault them for not be able to keep track of every largely meaningless bowl game on the docket.
With that said, I’ve seen much better looks in my day.
