ESPNers are not happy with Ryan Clark behind the scenes. On Monday, Clark went viral on social media when he blasted Robert Griffin III for stating that Angel Reese hates Caitlin Clark due to her reaction to Clark fouling her during this weekend’s Chicago Sky-Indiana Fever game.
In his rant, Clark called out RG3 for criticizing Reese while having a white wife.
“If you’re RG3, when is the last time within your household you’ve had a conversation about what [Angel Reese is] dealing with?” Clark asked. “You haven’t been able to do that because in both of your marriages, you’ve been married to white women.”
“You haven’t had opportunities to have those conversations to educate you on what they’re feeling, what Black women deal with, what they’re seeing when they think of a young Angel Reese. And the whole time that he’s mimicking Angel Reese and bobbing his head and moving his neck while he’s doing this whole piece, his wife is in the back amening and clapping.”
Griffin felt Clark went too far by bringing his wife into the debate.
“There’s a line you don’t cross in life, and Ryan Clark sprinted past it.”
“Ryan Clark didn’t like my take on Angel Reese hating Caitlin Clark. That’s fine. Disagreement is part of the game. But instead of debating my point, he personally attacked me and my family. That shows how low of person he is.”
Several people who work at ESPN agree with RG3’s assessment and felt that Clark crossed the line with his comments about RG3’s wife.
Four ESPNers spoke with Outkick’s Bobby Burack and say that they believe Clark should be punished for his comments.

Four different ESPN personalities expressed to OutKick that they hope the network addresses Clark’s comments and disciplines him. One source warned that ESPN would set a damning precedent by tolerating a pundit targeting someone’s family.
“Imagine how RGIII’s little black girls feel, seeing a prominent figure claim their father lacks empathy for black women,” the commentator told OutKick.
It’ll be interesting to see if ESPN addresses Clark’s comments about RG3’s wife in the coming days.
