Florida State players and media are continuing their cries of College Football Playoff disrespect after Alabama’s loss to Michigan on New Year’s Day.

Many point to the Crimson Tide’s quarterback play in the overtime defeat.

As has been well publicized since the Seminoles’ omission from the CFP field, FSU became the first ever undefeated Power Five conference champion to miss out on the four-team event.

Instead, Alabama got the nod for the final spot, sparking outrage amongst ‘Noles supporters.

That decision led to a domino effect within the sport, seeing Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody open an investigation into the committee’s selection process. There’s also been lawsuit opened between the school and the ACC.

Conspiracy theories flew as Florida State fans attempted to wrap their heads around the absence after a 13-0 season. The committee pointed to an injury to quarterback Jordan Travis as reasoning.

That excuse landed major criticism from FSU supporters, both before and after the opening round of the College Football Playoff.

Florida State media blasts CFP, Alabama QB play.

After seeing Jalen Milroe throw for just 116 yards in the loss to Michigan, many quickly responded by saying the Seminoles could’ve produced similar results even with a backup passer.

While Milroe completed just under 70% of his 23 pass attempts, he averaged just 7.25 yards per completion.

The quarterback did add 63 rushing yards to help the Alabama offense score 20 points against the nation’s top-ranked defense, but it was far from a Heisman-worthy performance.

Could Florida State’s second- or third-string quarterback have done better with the extra preparation? Some say so.

FSU players chime in on Alabama loss.

Media members weren’t the only ones talking after the Crimson Tide loss. A number of current and former players posted their immediate reactions after the game.

Danny Kanell, who’s been extremely vocal about the omission since the committee’s initial decision, wrote, “Wow. Both undefeated teams win. It’s almost like running the table in a power 5 conference means something!!!”

Both Washington and Michigan also completed undefeated regular seasons while Texas and Alabama each entered the playoff with one loss.

Seminole defensive back Jarrian Jones posted, “Difference between EARNED and GIVEN,” responding to a message from former FSU defender DeMarcus Walker that said, “This is why Bama shouldn’t of been in it.”

And then, there was a now-deleted post from quarterback Jordan Travis. The passer simply responded to Alabama’s defeat with a melting face emoji but took it down after backlash.

Florida State’s omission from the College Football Playoff field was unprecedented, and many still believe the committee got the decision wrong even with Alabama taking the No. 1 team Michigan to overtime.

Of course, the ‘Noles didn’t do themselves any favors by losing to Georgia by 60 points in the Orange Bowl.
