Former NFL running back “Doc” Holliday called Deion Sanders out after the Colorado head coach said his team had jewelry stolen from the locker room during a game against UCLA. Holliday referenced a similar incident during Coach Prime’s time at Jackson State.

He doesn’t believe he’s seeing similar outrage from Sanders, however, saying he should be more upset with the Bruins’ program and the city of Los Angeles.

“Hey Deion, Coach Prime… I remember when you went off when you were coaching at Jackson State, when you said somebody stole all your stuff out of the locker room. You pretty much lambasted the university, lambasted the city… You seemed to be pretty p’d off. You seemed to be going at the school and the university pretty hard…

“Now, according to reports, the same thing just happened at the Rose Bowl when y’all were playing UCLA. So, I really need to see that same kind of energy and that same kind of outrage that you were showing when you were at Jackson State.”

Holliday is referencing an incident that occurred during Sanders’ first game with Jackson State where his wallet, watches, and cell phone were taken from the locker room.

Sanders was fuming after the theft as he broke the situation down in a postgame interview. Holliday believes a similar response should’ve been seen after the instance at UCLA.

Deion Sanders responds to criticism after recent theft.

Holliday insinuates that Sanders is holding back his criticisms due to UCLA’s status compared to that of Jackson State. He expected to hear Coach Prime blasting the city and university after the fact.

While still upset about what transpired in Los Angeles, the reaction seemed to come more from players than coaches.

Then again, those were their items stolen this time around.

Deion Sanders responded to Holliday and his outlook on the theft. Here’s what he had to say on social media.

“My brother, move on with your life. I have and I’m to BLESSED to be stressed with yesterday’s inconsistencies. You’re talking about two different circumstances. God bless you because he’s sure blessing me.”

Sanders did call for the NCAA to reimburse the players’ stolen items, but he doesn’t seem too concerned with what Holliday is saying. Instead, he’s turning his attention to the rest of the year.
