Oklahoma has not explained Jahsiear Rogers' dismissal.
The Oklahoma football program has dismissed freshman wide receiver Jahsiear Rogers. The pass catcher was one of the program’s top recruits in the 2026 cycle.
He has played sparingly in Year 1 but was expected to make an impact for the Sooners down the road. That will no longer be the case.
The team announced the dismissal on Thursday ahead of the Red River Rivalry. Rogers is not on the roster. He will not play for Oklahoma moving forward.
In case yall didn’t know Jahsiear Rogers was kicked off the team.
Why? I don’t know. So anyone who does know feel free to enlighten us.

No reason was provided for the exit. There are more questions than answers.
Was he unhappy with playing time? Was there a spat with the coaching staff? Did he skip team meetings or practice? Is there an off-the-field issue that’s not been reported?
We do not know. Oklahoma won’t say. A former football player, however, has seemingly shed some light on the situation.
Why was Jahsiear Rogers dismissed?
Again, no details have been made public by the university or coaching staff. All we know is that Rogers is no longer a member of the team.
That’s somewhat of a blow to an offense searching for answers. QB John Mateer has struggled under center. The passing game has been dysfunctional. The Sooners have averaged 12.3 points per game across the last three outings.
Making things worse, the unit is banged up. Two wideouts and two tight ends were listed on the injury report ahead of a showdown with top-ranked Texas. That comes despite having a bye week last Saturday.
Trell Harris and Jer’Michael Carter did not play in Week 4 vs. Georgia. Harris is still listed as being out while Carter has been upgraded to questionable.
With a thin roster and lacking production, Rogers probably could’ve been useful. While he hadn’t recorded a catch this season, he shined against the first-team defense in the spring game hauling in five receptions for 70 yards. The potential was there.
“He’s a ballplayer,” said position coach Emmett Jones in the offseason. “You want to put him out there and let him go play. He wants the opportunity. When that ball comes his way, he can do some crazy things. He’s deadly explosive after the catch.”
He will not get the opportunity to showcase that skillset this fall. He has been kicked off the team.
Former Oklahoma football player Gabe Ikard seemed to touch on the dismissal in a social media post on Thursday. He referenced a poor attitude and a disrespectful demeanor towards “the people that pour into the program.”
Oklahoma football alum posts cryptic update.
If you don’t treat the people that pour into the program with the respect they deserve…then there’s not place for you at Oklahoma.

He alluded to a potential disagreement and negative response, though specifics of the supposed spat are unknown. Ikard provided further intel in a subsequent post.
“We don’t have to have a bunch of Boy Scouts. But there are certain things that are nonnegotiable. If you can’t do those things, especially when you haven’t done jacks— on the field, then you gotta go.”

Jahsiear Rogers “disrespected” important people within the program. He did not do certain things that were asked of him. The bad attitude, combined with a lack of production, resulted in a dismissal. The four-star wideout will have a new home next season.
