The Drake airball resurfaced online after a basketball game between South Carolina and Kentucky on Tuesday night. The embarrassing viral moment was used as weapon to troll the Wildcats after an abysmal night from the field.

The Gamecocks blew the ‘Cats out in the SEC showdown, winning 79-62 and holding UK to their lowest scoring output of the season.

On the night, Kentucky shot just 40% from the floor and 30% from beyond the arc to fall well below their season average of nearly 92 points per game.

The Gamecocks got up by as many as 20 points in the second half before recording their largest margin of victory over a top 10 opponent in program history.

Fans quickly celebrated by storming the court and taking a quick dip in a large fountain outside the arena entrance. The players enjoyed themselves, too, kickstarting the party in the locker room.

It wouldn’t take the social media team long to get in on the action.

Shortly after landing the upset, the Gamecocks took to Instagram to troll the Wildcats, SEC voters, Drake, and every one of their preseason doubters.

In a hilarious yet perfect post, the media team used the rap star’s famous warm-up session to sum up Kentucky’s poor offensive night.

Kentucky superfan, Drake, was the focal point of that troll as the post included a number of different viral clips from his past.

At one point, you see the SEC preseason predictions, which pegged the Gamecocks to finish dead last in the conference. After the win over the Wildcats, they now sit at 4-2 in a tie for fourth.

“To the rest of you – the non-believers, the underachievers, the tweet and deleters – you guys make me sick to my stomach!”

Conference voters haven’t been South Carolina’s only doubters this season. Many questioned the program’s decision to hire Lamont Paris after the Frank Martin era came to an end.

The former Chattanooga head coach had no Power Five head coaching experience, though he did lead the Mocs to an NCAA Tournament appearance in his final season.

An 11-21 finish to Year 1 in Columbia didn’t ease the minds of many, but Paris seems to have gotten the buy in following a hot start to 2023-24.

The Gamecocks are 16-3, having already matched their SEC win total from the year prior, and look to be headed to their first Big Dance since making the Final Four in 2017.

Of course, another one of those viral Drake memories was the rapper’s incredibly awful warm-up in Lexington. Taking the floor in Rupp Arena alongside stars like Devin Booker and Karl-Anthony Towns.

That warm-up came as part of the team’s Big Blue Madness event, where he officially introduced head coach John Calipari ahead of the 2014-15 season – all while decked out in a full UK track suit!

South Carolina used Drake’s Kentucky fandom against the program on Tuesday. What a win for the Gamecocks.
